Aging: Special Tabulation - AoA web site
A set of tables tabulated by the U.S. Census Bureau for the Administration on Aging (AoA) from the Census 2000 sample ("long form") data. This tabulation provides much more detail on the older population (60+) than is available from other Census sources.

American Indian Data and Links

Basic Population and Housing Characteristics - Summary Files (SF) 1 and 2
SF 1 and 2 include population counts and basic cross-tabulations of information collected from all people and housing units. This information includes age cohorts, sex, race, Hispanic or Latino origin, household relationship, and whether the residence is owned or rented. Data are available down to the block level for many tabulations, but only to the census tract level for others.

Demographic/Community Profiles
Four page reports which provide various demographic, social, economic, and housing characteristics for Montana, counties, places, reservations, legislative districts, and metropolitan areas.

Detailed Demographic Profiles
Thirty-four page Detailed Profiles from Summary File 1 (SF 1) which include basic population and housing characteristics for Montana, countries, places, reservations, and metropolitan areas and census tracts.  Fifty-eight page Detailed Profiles from Summary File 3 (SF 3) which include socioeconomic data such as poverty, income, etc. for the same geographic areas as SF 1.

Public Law 94-171 Redistricting Data
Included in the Census 2000 Public Law 94-171 tables are total population, age 18 years and over, race, Hispanic or Latino origin, and population density. Also included are density, land and water area. These are 100% data available for the state, counties, places, census designated places (CDPs), reservations, census divisions, census tracts, census block groups and census blocks.

Socioeconomic Characteristics - Summary Files (SF) 3 and 4
SF 3 and 4 contain sample data from the long form questionnaire. Data items include disability, employment, income, industry/occupation, journey to work, migration, poverty, along with detailed household and housing unit data. Data are provided down to the block group for many tablulations but only down to the census tract for others.

Urban and Rural
Includes Urbanized Area and Urban Cluster classifications as well as farm and nonfarm population.

NOTE: The U.S. Census Bureau has issued revisions to the total population, group quarters population, total housing units, and vacant housing units in areas within Montana as a result of the Count Question Resolution Program.
